Neighbors North Catholic Community strives to compassionately support families during their time of grief. If you are visiting this page because you are planning a funeral for a loved one, please know that you are in our prayers.
Funeral Liturgy Planners assist families in preparing a Mass of Christian Burial that honors their loved one. Using the Funeral Liturgy Planning Guide (see document below), families choose scripture readings and music, and complete a brief biography about the deceased. The Funeral Liturgy Planner relays information to the priest, deacon, and music minister.
Parish volunteers also attend the visitation at the funeral home, to represent the parish and offer support to mourners.
Volunteers are always needed to assist in the many aspects of a funeral Mass. Funeral Liturgy Planners, vigil prayer volunteers, and altar servers offer important, though often unnoticed, support to families during a difficult moment. If you are intested in volunteering in any of these roles, please contact Mary Jo Robbins, Parish Social Minister at 412-364-8999 ext 8637 or mrobbins@saintsebastianparish.org
